We try to be transparent about where our tallow comes from. We hold ourselves to the same standard with the information you share when you visit this site or contact us.
This page describes what we collect, why, who else touches it, and what you can do about it. If anything is unclear, write to info@ranchhandrendering.com and we will answer plainly.
What we collect from you
When you submit the contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The topic of your inquiry (home cooking, formulation, or other)
- If you select formulation: your estimated monthly volume
- If you select home cooking: how you heard about us
- Your message
We collect this so we can reply to you. That is the only reason.
When you visit any page, our host (Netlify) records a standard server log: your IP address, your browser type, the URL you requested, and the time. These logs let Netlify route traffic and protect the site from attacks. Netlify retains them on a rolling window per their own policy. We do not read them in normal operation.
We do not run analytics. We do not set advertising cookies. We do not have a marketing email list.
Third parties that touch this site
Netlify hosts the site and processes the contact form. When you visit any page or submit the form, your visit data and submission are handled by Netlify. Privacy policy: netlify.com/privacy.
Google Fonts delivers the two fonts used by this site (Playfair Display and Inter). Loading those fonts sends your IP address and browser information to Google. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Unsplash delivers some of the hero photos on Journal articles. When an article uses an Unsplash photo, your IP address and browser information are sent to Unsplash to fetch the image. Privacy policy: unsplash.com/privacy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any of this information. We do not share contact form submissions with anyone beyond what is needed to receive and reply to them.
Cookies
We do not set our own cookies. Netlify may set a session cookie related to form spam protection. Google may set cookies related to Google Fonts.
How long we keep what you send us
Contact form submissions sit in our Netlify dashboard until we delete them. If you want yours removed, email info@ranchhandrendering.com and reference the message you sent. We will delete it and confirm.
Your rights
If you live in California, Texas, or the European Economic Area (or anywhere with similar laws), you have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you
- Ask us to delete it
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to stop processing it
To exercise any of these, write to info@ranchhandrendering.com from the same email address you used to contact us. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site collects or handles data, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. The current version is always at ranchhandrendering.com/privacy.html.
